Diagnostic Study on Renewable Energy Potential in South East Asia
The project is conducted in partnership between the International Solar Energy Society Germany (DGS), The aim of the project is to carry out a “Study on Solar and Biomass Energy Potential and Feasibility” in Lao PDR and Thailand including:
The project is conducted in partnership between the International Solar Energy Society Germany (DGS), The aim of the project is to carry out a “Study on Solar and Biomass Energy Potential and Feasibility” in Lao PDR and Thailand including:

• RE strategies on technology implementation
• project dimensioning and design
• urban energy supply
• financing procedures and
• legislation.

The target groups of the presented project are the Thai and Lao public and private stakeholders of renewable energy and the related agricultural sector from ministries and other governmental institutions, NGO’s, farmers/agricultural companies, farmer associations and private companies of the energy and fertilisers sector.

The main activities are data research, data evaluation, study development and publication. Individual meetings and literature reviews will be performed for the data research on solar and biomass to energy use and potential in Thailand and Laos and for the appropriate technologies stakeholder workshops. A project homepage will be established for publication and communication. The project is funded by Asia Pro Eco Program (Contract Identification number TH/Asia Pro Eco/05 (101302).
