The AGITS conference, held at Chulalongkhorn University in Bangkok during 27th and 28th of October, provided an interesting mix of papers on the greening agro-industry from around the region.  Emerging from the discussion and papers was a particularly strong interest in the potential and pitfalls of certification and labelling and the role of the state vis-à-vis private investors in an increasingly globalized market place.  Publications from the conference are already well underway.
